I didn’t start this blog to put out lifestyle advice or pretend to be an expert on anything.
But I will say that I suggest bird watching as a hobby. In your backyard.
Birding is often thought of as an activity that only seniors get into. But don’t wait until it’s too late to reap the benefits of getting to know the birds.
In an age where narcissism is off the charts, screens compete with being present and mental illness abounds, it’s time to get connected with the Source of life for some relief.
The Source of life is Mother Earth and she designs all the animals. All indigenous cultures held wildlife in reverence and considered animals to be our teachers.
Maybe you won’t learn anything profound but the observation of their habits may bring some tranquility and some connection with the world outside of your problems. Or maybe you will have profound ideas in the quietness of observation!
There’s an excellent book I read last year called What The Robin Knows by Jon Young. I absolutely loved it and it changed my life.
Jon Young makes the claim that you need nature connection like you need food and water. I couldn’t agree more as I have seen the difference in my life.
You don’t need self help books – you need to plug into the Earth.
